Lovely as a tree birthday

This was a quick and easy project, but I love use of dsp and ribbon to bring some colour and texture.  I've stamped a sentiment, added three squares of dsp, and layered the very vanilla onto pool party, then on to the base of soft suede.  I sponged the dsp squares to highlight the patterns, then stamped a leaf on the inside panel with the rock 'n' roll technique.  Add some ribbon and you're done!

I put this card together for my mother's card tin as she said she was running out of cards...  A stamper in the family is alway handy!  I made a number of other cards for her and gave them all to her for her birthday.  I'm thinking she'll love handing this one on to someone :-)

I missed the challenge at JAI a few weeks ago, but I thought I would share this project anyway.  This was my take on adding winter to a project, because it's been soooo cold lately...

I used my brayer to add some colour to the whisper white panel, then I stamped the trees, but I stamped the image twice without re-inking the stamp, and I moved the image a little to create a shadow look. Loving how it created depth to the image!  Then, I just had to add some dazzling diamonds as snow to the whole panel - you may not be able to see this very well on the photo, but it looks amazing in real life (trust me!).  The ribbon and wee tag finish it off, along with an inside panel to add a message.

A very quick card today... I used the colour coach to work at the best monocromatic colour scheme for early expresso. Luckily it was soft suede, which I have! I love this stamp set, so I wanted to combine the colours I love with the stamp set I love (one of them, at least!). I've stamped an inside panel (very vanilla) with early express and soft suede. I know it's technically tomorrow now (yikes!) but wanted to get this up. Whew!

Awhile back, I saw this card by Mary Brown on a challenge and today, I decided to CASE (copy and share everything) it. I love the vellum paper, the colours (although I don't think the old olive goes that well - Mary used choc chip scalloped ribbon) and the layered stamping. The pics aren't very good because I left taking the photos until too late...but hope it give you some idea. I'm thinking I might try heat embossing (or dry embossing, for that matter!) the vellum, so you might see more of this stuff!

These photos aren't the best, but this card was quick and easy to make... Again, I used some scraps I had lying around (I often use that as a spring-board of inspiration for my projects). I've made this one another birthday card as I don't have as many of those right now... It could be a masculine card, but it has enough detail and cuteness to give to a female. The inside panel is blury, but has very simply been stamped in one corner for interest.

Whew! I've almost run out of time for my post of the day...! This was a quick, easy card I've pulled together this evening. Not very exciting, but love the old olive and early expresso with the cherry cobbler and riding hood red. I'll try and get more creative tomorrow...! This one will probably go into my stash to sell at the market :-)

I could wait to have a go at this week's JAI Challenge, which was put up just today! Just add Kathy Turner! I love her work, and couldn't wait to CASE one of her projects. Here, I brayered the tag with night of navy on the bottom, and cherry cobbler and pumpkin pie on the top. Dasher was stamped as the main image, and rhinestones were added for extra pop. Hope you like it!

Over at Color Throwdown, they have an amazing colour challenge this week! I decided to play along and came up with a special thank you card (the sentiment is inside). I'm loving my new stamp set, lovely as a tree, and how effective stamping with my clear block is - love! The splash of colour with the melon mambo button just makes this card pop :-)

I whipped this one up tonight using some scraps I had lying around...a great way to use up all those pesky little pieces of carstock! I didn't want anything with too much bling, but I know some men-folk that actually do like some bling, so I opted for a few rhinestones. My brayer finished off the scene, and the sponging toned down the edges just a little bit.

Today, I wanted to stretch myself to make a masculine birthday card. This was quite simple and straightforward to put together, but quite effective. You can't see the dazzling diamonds very well, but the ground by the trees are sparkling a little...after all, everyone loves a little bling, right?! I'm pleasantly surprised how this has come out, and I'll be very proud to give this away (or sell it, whichever happens first!).

Autumn theme challenge

I had the chance to enjoy some creative time with another demonstrator over the weekend, and we had fun using each other's products - that's the beauty of being in a team; if you don't have something, you can ask around and you can get to play with things you haven't got!

Anyway, I pulled this card together for the challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments, using some of the product that my fellow-demonstrator had. The bird punch is very cool, and the Lovely as a tree stamp set is gorgeous! The challenge was to create a project that was inspired by autumn, or fall. I love autunm and the amazing colours of the season, so this challenge was a no-brainer to enter.
