Movie night

Card: daffodil delight, dsp patterns stack - brights (melon mambo), pear pizazz, whisper white
Ink: pear pizazz
Stamps: defining alphabet, sweet summber (SAB)
Other: decorative label punch, top note die, big shot, ice cream parlour button & ribbon bundle

This is another quick (ish!) layout I finished off a few weeks ago... Loving the bright, cheery colours!

Going to see this movie was a memory I wanted to perserve, so I thought the flyer that I picked up at my new local movie theatre (The Roxy) in Miramar was the best way to put this memory onto a layout as I didn't take any photos of the evening. I think the layout captures the memories of the film and the enjoyment of the evening nicely!

Leaves of Norway layout

Card: autumn spice dsp, crumb cake, early expresso, very vanilla, old olive, pumpkin pie
Stamp: defining alphabet, sweet shoppe lower alphabet, bliss
Ink: early expresso, soft suade
Ribbon: early expresso 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon
Other: scallop trim border punch, decorative label punch, sweet button emboslit, big shot, white gel pen

I have had my pack of autumn spice dsp from the current mini catalogue sitting around for quite some time and finally decided to use a page for it's rich, earthy tones. I found these leaves that I had picked up and pressed on a trip to Norway almost 2 years ago now (shhh, don't tell customs!) and just had to put them together with the autumn spice dsp.

After lots of sponging and moving the elements around, I'm pretty happy with the layout. What do you think?

JAI Challenge

This past week, I decided to enter a project for the latest JAI (Just Add Ink) challenge. This link is well worth a look for ideas and inspiration!

Card: crumb cake, early expresso
DSP: Autumn Spice (from the current mini) Stamp sets: bliss, defining alphabet
Ink: early expresso, soft suede
Other: 1 1/4' grosgrain striped early expresso ribbon, top note die cut, big shot, sponge, beautiful wings embosslits, pearls, black pen

This is a 12x12" scrapbook page, which is what I love to create, and I'm happy with the end result. It highlights sponging, stamping, the big shot and pearls (loving these!). It did help to have a sketch to work with, and I think it worked well for these pics of Chester (he's hilarous!).

Happy International Nurses Day!

As my sister is a nurse, we're celebrating International Nurses Day today! Of course, I had to make a card for my sister, and I finished this off last night - without her even knowing about it! I love surprises! I had this waiting on the breakfast table this morning for her...

Card: concord crush, whisper white, real red
Ink: concord crush, real red
Stamps: defining alphabet, so happy for you (SAB)
Ribbon: concord crush 1/2" stitched-poly ribbon
Other: scallop trim border punch, textured impressions embossing folder, big shot, white gel pen

I don't think Stampin Up! have come up with a stamp of a nurse, so I've kept this card real simple. Loving my big shot and the embossing folders that Stampin Up! have produced - they give any project so much dimension and texture!
